Hello, I am a n00b, please move this thread if it is in the wrong category:)is Yesterday, I picked up a Viewsat Ultra FTA reciever at Goodwill for 6.99:P I have looked all over the web, googled, binged, and used every possible search engine, to find the latest stock firmware upgrade fie for my Viewsat Ultra (VS2000). Every time I click a download link for this firmware, it won't let me download!:( I am very new to the FTA thing, the only equipment I have is an old DISH Network dish (DPP Twin LNBF), and my Viewsat Ultra.

Hello and welcome to SS.unless you're going to use it for true FTA the only support now for the Ultra is via a private server which you would have to google a search for and then pay for it.another thing the only way for it to work with a private server would be by using a program called rq-ssp client which requires you to connect your pc to the serial port on back of box with serial cable and leave your pc on 24/7.another way is if you can find an XFTA router, there are programs that will work for the ultra also.here's some links to check out if your interested.
